'Contemporary Australia: Women' celebrates the diversity, energy and innovation of work by contemporary Australian women artists, and this season's Book Club, like the exhibition, explores women's voices in Australia today. This autumn, we focus on three critically acclaimed novels by some of Australia's most exciting writers. The autumn reading list includes a powerful tale of a family growing up on the remote south coast of Tasmania (Past the Shallows), the story of a woman's journey from Australia's east coast to far north in search of her father and her Aboriginal identity (Swallow the Air), and a narrative based on real individuals and events exploring the heroism hidden in unexpected places (All That I Am).
Special discount available at the QAGOMA Store, 20 per cent off all books on the Autumn Book Club reading list – exclusive to QAGOMA Members!
Autumn Book Club reading list:
March: Favel Parrett's Past the Shallows (2011)
April: Tara June Winch's Swallow the Air (2006)
May: Anna Funder's All That I Am (2011)
