Steendÿk
The work of Brian Steendyk fuses a range of disciplines, from architecture and product design to interior, exhibition, landscape and urban design. Steendyk’s early career benefited from an Australian Institute of Architects medallion as a graduating student, followed by a scholarship to undertake a Master of Architecture degree at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Steendyk’s subsequent experience included working with several international firms across Europe and Asia, including Van Berkel & Bos Architectuur Bureau (UN Studio) in Amsterdam and Cox Group International in Singapore. He returned to Brisbane and initiated his architecture and design studio — Steendÿk — in 2002. The Steendÿk studio’s architectural and product designs have since been exhibited widely in Australia, and internationally in Milan, Tokyo, Berlin, Chicago and Taipei.
