Lindsay and Kerry Clare (Architectus)
Lindsay and Kerry Clare are two of Queensland’s most prominent and respected architects. For around two decades from the late 1970s they were based on the Sunshine Coast, where they quickly established a strong reputation for residential projects that were responsive to the local climate while also possessing a highly practical, elegant and modern aesthetic. In 1998 they left the coast to take up positions as design directors within the New South Wales Government Architect’s Office, and in 2000 joined Architectus as founding Directors of the firm’s Sydney office. In 2002 the Clares were design directors of Architectus’ winning entry in the international design competition held for the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, which opened to acclaim in 2006.
