Ian Moore Architects

Ian Moore Architects has a distinguished track record of producing singular and stylish houses. Principal architect Ian Moore’s style is most often associated with an austere minimalism: hard edges, sparse detailing and large expanses of glazing. He is also lauded, however, for his clever and logical space planning, a skill that has been particularly applied in Moore’s multi-residential work. Altair Apartments (2000) in Sydney’s Kings Cross — a significant precursor to the Gold Coast’s Air Apartments (2005) — received the honour of both Best Building in the Australasia/Oceania region and Best Housing Scheme in the World at the World Architecture Awards in Berlin. In 2008 the practice has more than 20 projects in progress in New Zealand, California, Queensland and New South Wales. The firm operates from offices in Sydney and in Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
