Gabriel Poole
Gabriel Poole
The name Gabriel Poole has become synonymous with the architecture of the Sunshine Coast region. His renown does not come from designing luxury beach houses, although these are certainly in his repertoire. Rather, since the early 1970s Poole has consistently pursued new methods of construction and designs that enable environmentally sensitive houses which nonetheless remain affordable. Poole has been influential on several prominent Queensland architects (including Lindsay and Kerry Clare and John Mainwaring), and in 1998 he received the Australian Institute of Architects Gold Medal for his lifetime contribution to Australian architecture.
