Contemporary Australia: Women is a major exhibition publication that celebrates the diversity, energy and innovation in work by contemporary Australian women artists across all media and backgrounds.
The publication highlights the strong work by women artists in Australia today and profiles their many contributions to contemporary art. Texts include lead essays by Julie Ewington, Curatorial Manager, Australian Art, Queensland Art Gallery and prominent guest authors – leading Indigenous scholar, Marcia Langton; TV host and film program curator Margaret Pomeranz; social commentator Emily Maguire and novelist Jennifer Mills. The publication also features over 30 essays on individual artists, lavishly illustrated with reproductions of works by each of the exhibiting artists.
