As part of ‘Contemporary Australia: Women’, the Children’s Art Centre presents leading Australian artist Fiona Hall’s interactive art work ‘Fly Away Home’ from 7 April – 16 September 2012. Connecting the artist’s interests in migratory birds and contemporary issues of human migration, visitors are invited to enter the nest-inspired environment to create a new species of bird with paper banknotes and build a home in the form of a nest.

‘Fly Away Home’ also features a moving image work by the artist, 'Video wallpaper for a rainy afternoon' 2008-10, documenting the bird life visiting a Sri Lankan lake during the monsoon.
